Artist Statement: “In Pacific Northwest Coast Culture, Raven is a powerful and mysterious trickster, symbolizing creation and knowledge. Some believe that messages from the creator are buried in his wings, knowledge that is only revealed to those most deserving of it. For the wise who acknowledge that what the eye sees is not always the truth, Raven is implemental in recognizing what is true and just. He is feared and never mistreated.”
