Using colored pencils (not watercolor pencils) to add drama and whimsy to your painting. We will paint a rooster (not the one shown) using watercolor and colored pencil (not watercolor pencils). You can “glam” and “embellish” him as much as you want. We will glaze the watercolor to a high color intensity and take it over the top with the pencils.

SUPPLY LIST:
Your own supplies (some can be purchased from Janet if ordered by 1/11/19) Arches 300 lb. cold press watercolor paper – 11×15 (1/4 sheet)

Watercolor paint colors (or equivalent) (I use Holbein & Daniel Smith watercolors):
Pyrrole Red, Quinacridone Gold, Quinacridone Burnt Orange,
Gamboge, Ultramarine Blue, Peacock Blue, Phthalo Yellow Green (Daniel Smith)

14 Colored Pencil Colors (I use Prismacolor pencils):
White(you can use Dr. Ph. Martin’s Bleed Proof White instead of a white colored pencil), Scarlet Lake (Red), Pumpkin Orange, Dark Orange, Canary Yellow, Sunburst Yellow, Deco Yellow (Pale Yellow), Crimson Lake, Violet Blue, Non Photo Blue, Light Aqua, Ultramarine, Violet Blue, Electric Blue, Neon Orange

Prismacolor colourless pencil for blending. (This is very important, don’t leave it out.)

Your choice of “round” brushes, #6, #7, #8, larger for the background.

Portable (preferred) pencil sharpener (plug-in okay).

Janet will provide the traceable rooster and the graphite paper for transferring.

We will take a 30-minute break for lunch, so bring a lunch/snack. There is a refrigerator and a microwave available.
