Debbie Aken, a former art educator, settled in Yachats with her husband in 2015 to enjoy a creative and inspiring retirement. She works within several art mediums, including printmaking and mixed media montages. She also enjoys painting and pottery. When creating, she is especially drawn to nature and trees, focusing on their negative, or empty, space. She hopes to evoke a sense of wonder when people view her work.
