Artist Statement: “This project coincided with my best friend’s surgery and recovery. The community here, along with other friends and family, made Loki’s operation possible. As he healed, I was able to paint nearby and offer comfort; therapy for both of us. The community here, namely the persistent Saturday demonstrators, have also helped greatly in my return home. I grew up here and treasure memories of living above the laundromat and working at the Green Salmon, among others. May this banner serve as a symbol of gratitude and a prayer for peace, love, and harmony.”
